Think of this app as you are reading a journal of a servant and his adventures but you choose how it goes. I started out really enjoying this game because its different. Its not like every "choose your own adventure" story. Youve got to keep your funds up and get hints as to where to sell items you buy at the market in order to gain money and keep traveling while you keep your employer happy. Items in suitcases turn yellow if you will get a hefty return on it. Just make sure you go to the place the description of the item says to in order to gain the money. It can be simple but if youre not careful, you can run out fast if you try to travel too quickly. If a departure leaves after three days, youre given the option to speed it up but you will pay a hefty price. The story line can be fun and hooked me in the beginning. Soon, I found myself bored because even when the story picks up and your character finds himself in a near impossible position, it clears up and youre back to the main screen choosing where to go next. Youve not really risked anything choosing either one of the storylines given as options. Youre given mostly two to three decisions and nothing of risk. Only once I found myself nearly out of money and sleeping outside but I got out of it quickly. I kept myself in favor often just by choosing to tend to the master instead of working for the hotel. Not a big deal, I didnt risk much with the master by gaining money washing dishes. Basically, you have three options nearly everywhere you go: Market, Bank, or Sleep and sometimes Depart if youre on time for it. Choosing depart has you travel to the next place or you can choose where to go if it allows. Choose Bank and you can ask for money but risk waiting a few days. Go to Market and you see a screen of only a few items and you can read about where theyd be valuable. You can also complete certain outfits to keep that type of travel comfortable. You dont get to actually dress anyone though. You just read about it happening.
The whole app is about reading a story, choosing where to go and watching a sort of Indiana Jones map as you travel along, choose what to buy and sell and tend to your master while all trying to make it back before 80 days. If you dont, not a big deal. You just continue.
No big risks in the game which its lacking. No other screens other than the samples you see, you dont even see the characters they talk about. Its all imagined by the reader. This is too easy a game and gets too repetitive. I found myself just tapping on answers to get through it just to see what happens. You end up just starting over.
